H.E. Mr. Abdel-Rahman El-Khatib
Chairman - Executive Privatization Commission
Engineer Abdel-Rahman El-Khatib assumed his responsibilities as
Chairman of the Executive Privatization Commission in December 2007.
Prior to that, and since 1998, he has been EPC Senior Transaction
Manager responsible for the overall restructuring and privatization of
the Telecommunications and Air Transport Sectors. As the
Telecommunications Expert at EPC, El-Khatib represented the Commission
in all negotiations leading to the finalization of contracts and
agreements with Jordan Telecom Strategic Partners. In addition to a
broad track record and experience in managing specialized
telecommunications departments; in successfully negotiating substantial
telecommunication investment projects with the private sector; advising
key defense and political decision makers on Telecom related issues, El-Khatib
possesses profound experience and know–how in the development and
implementation of policies for sector liberalization, private sector
participation and Utility Regulations. His knowledge of the Jordanian
economy, competitive and regulated markets as well as Government's
policies, specifically in the Telecommunication Services and Air
Transport Sectors, led to the successful completion of vital projects in
Jordan’s Privatization Program including: Royal Jordanian Airlines
Restructuring and Privatization, Civil Aviation Restructuring, Airports
Duty Free Shops, Aircraft Catering, Royal Jordanian Air Academy, Jordan
Aircraft Maintenance Company, Queen Noor Civil Aviation Technical
College, and Jordan Airmotive Limited Company
