H.E. Mr. Nasser Shraideh
Chief Commissioner - Petra Development & Tourism Region Authority
Mr. Nasser Shraideh is an economist with over twenty years of
experience in international cooperation, economic policy development,
private sector development, small and micro-finance, community
development, and institutional capacity building. His work experience
with international NGOs, United Nations Agencies, and various public
sector institutions has afforded him a substantive and deep
understanding of different macro and micro developmental issues in
Jordan and the region.
On 14 October 2009, Mr. Shraideh was appointed Chief Commissioner of the
Petra Development & Tourism Region Authority.
Prior to this posting, Mr. Shraideh served as Secretary General of the
Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation since February 2007,
and joined the ministry in 1998 as Programme Coordinator of the Small
and Micro Enterprise Development Program, and in 2000, became the
Director of the International Cooperation Department.
Mr. Shraideh holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Economics from the
Yarmouk University.
