H.E. Tayseer Al-Smadi, Ph.D.
Chairman of the Islamic International Arab Bank

Dr. Tayseer Al-Smadi spent the last 20 years in public service with the Government of Jordan. He served as Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Minister of Public Sector Reform, and the Chairman the Civil Service Council. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Islamic International Arab Bank and the CEO of economic and administrative consulting firm.

Dr. Al-Smadi started his career at the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) then at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MOPIC).

Dr. Al-Smadi is serving now on the Board of Trustees for the Jordan Hashemite Fund for Human Development, and he is also a member of the Consultative Council for Ajloun Governorate. He holds a Ph.D. degree in economics, with emphasis on international trade and economic development, form the Utah State University and M.S. degree in Economics from the University of Jordan.
