Dr. Ahmad Attiga
Sr. Country Officer - International Finance Corporation
Dr. Ahmed Ali Attiga, a Libyan national, is currently the Resident
Representative and Country Manager of the International Finance
Corporation (IFC) in Jordan & Iraq.
Before joining IFC, Attiga served at the Board of Executive Directors of
the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C as Senior Advisor to the
Executive Director representing 13 Arab countries. Prior to joining the
World Bank Group, Attiga held various teaching and research positions at
the University of Wisconsin- Madison in the United States, Kuwait
Institute for Scientific Research, and Kuwait University. Dr. Attiga
also held various positions in the private sector including as a manager
of an equity fund for the State of Wisconsin and was a privatization and
restructuring consultant to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
Attiga has several publications and research on private sector
development and privatization in developing countries, capital markets
development, and the conducive environment for Foreign Direct
Investments (FDI). He has received many awards including Princeton’s
University Leadership award, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research
Academic award and several other awards. Attiga is a member of many
Associations and Boards.
