Mr. Robert Tashima
Regional Editor - Oxford Business Group
With a background in
political economy and international trade, Robert Tashima joined Oxford
Business Group (OBG) in early 2007 as an Editorial Manager, becoming a
Regional Editor in 2008. In this capacity, he is now in charge of web
and print editorial for OBG’s projects across the Levant, North Africa
and sub-Saharan Africa.
Robert has conducted extensive field research on emerging markets in the
Middle East and Africa for both the academic and private sector,
focusing on political risk and foreign investment in resource-rich
countries.
Previously, he worked as a legislative aide for the California State
Legislature in the United States, where he was responsible for drafting
and negotiating tax, trade and business laws. Robert has also conducted
research on business development and public financing issues in the
United States at the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research
Institute.
He holds a BA in Political Science and French from the University of
California at Berkeley and a Certificat d’Etudes Politiques from the
Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Bordeaux, France. He received his MSc in
International Relations at the London School of Economics.
